Hello, I’m Gemma Parrott and I am a Digital Marketing Consultant here at Thorne Travel.
I was completely new to the travel industry when I joined the Thorne Travel team in 2022. I am enjoying every minute of it and I have learned so much during my time here.
What’s the most unforgettable trip you’ve ever taken?
Norwegian Fjords Cruise.
The Norwegian fjords left a lasting impression on me, thanks to their stunning scenery! Every moment was breathtaking. My favorite port was Olden, where we took the Sky Lift. The view from the top was absolutely unbelievable—it felt like standing on top of the world!
What’s one destination that surprised you in a good way?
Malta
I was genuinely amazed by Malta’s rich history and vibrant culture, especially considering its size as a small island. From the ancient ruins of the Megalithic Temples, which are older than the pyramids, to the picturesque coastal views and the crystal-clear waters made it an idyllic spot for exploration. Additionally, the local cuisine, infused with Mediterranean flavors, was a delightful surprise.
Are you more of a beach lounger or an adventure seeker?
I’m definitely more of an adventure seeker! I love being out and about, exploring new places and soaking in all the sights. When I’m planning a holiday, I always focus on the activities and experiences I can dive into. Sitting in the sun isn’t really my thing— I burn very easily (I am a factor 50 gal 😂) so I prefer to keep moving and discover everything a destination has to offer.
What’s your dream travel destination that you haven’t visited yet?
Switzerland
My dream destination that I haven’t visited yet is Switzerland. This is a dream destination because of its breathtaking landscapes, from the majestic Alps to the serene lakes that seem straight out of a postcard.
What’s your go-to travel hack or tip that you always share with clients?
Take an extension cable with you instead of multiple travel plugs. This tip has saved me countless headaches while traveling. An extension cable allows you to charge multiple devices at once, which is especially handy in hotel rooms where outlets can be limited.
What’s one destination you think everyone should visit at least once in their life?
Iceland
The one destination I think everyone should visit at least once in their life is Iceland. You should visit Iceland because it offers a unique blend of stunning natural beauty and incredible geological features. From the otherworldly landscapes of geysers and hot springs to the mesmerizing Northern Lights, it feels like stepping into a different world. I highly recommend the Sky Lagoon. I could have stayed there all day it was so relaxing and the 7-step ritual was amazing!
