Ahoy there! I wanted to take a moment to share with you one of my all-time favourite cruise ships – Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas®. I’ve had the pleasure of cruising on this majestic vessel several times, and it never fails to impress. The ‘Indy,’ as she’s affectionately known, is a firm favourite among cruisers from around the world, and she underwent an extensive multi-million-dollar refurbishment in 2018.
Spacious and Serene Staterooms…
The ship features a wide range of staterooms – from inside to ocean view, promenade view, balcony, and suites – to accommodate any budget. Cabins come equipped with all the necessities, but don’t worry if you forget something, as the highly attentive Cabin Stewards are available 24 hours a day to assist.
Bountiful Bars and Pubs…
The ship boasts 17 bars, each with its own unique theme, including the Diamond Lounge and the Pool Bars. The Promenade on Deck 6 is the heart of the ship, where you’ll find Guest Relations and Shore Excursions, a Champagne Bar, and the Vintages Wine Bar. It’s also home to a variety of luxury stores with plenty of bargains and duty-free prices. Don’t miss the occasional street party on The Promenade either – it’s a must-see!
Food, Glorious Food…
When it comes to cuisine, Independence of the Seas® has it all. The ship features 14 restaurants, including six that are included in the price of your cruise and eight specialty dining restaurants that come with an additional charge. While the specialty restaurants such as Chops Grille, Chef’s Table, and the Japanese-themed Izumi are all unique with truly amazing menus, the main dining room and the famous Windjammer buffet restaurant – both included in the price of your cruise – offer a variety of world-class dishes to satisfy any palate. The friendly Food and Beverage Team are always happy to go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and relaxed.
Entertainment for All…
There’s no shortage of activities and entertainment on Independence of the Seas®, from having a showdown in the glow-in-the-dark laser tag centre to trying your luck in the glittering Casino Royale. There are quizzes, game shows, singing and dancing, and, of course, the breathtaking Broadway-style shows in the Alhambra Theatre, many of which feature a live orchestra.
The thing about ‘Indy’ is that she has the most incredible atmosphere that entices guests to return to sail on her time after time.
