Hi, I am Ava, and I recently visited Mexico with my Nan, Papa and younger sister, Alyssa. Here’s a bit about my experience.
We flew with Tui from Glasgow airport to Cancun International Airport. The flight lasted 9 hours but didn’t seem long because we had lots of movies to watch whilst we ate some snacks and drinks. We also got breakfast and lunch and we were lucky enough to fly premium class this meant we could lay back and sleep with the Tui pillows and blankets we had.
We stayed at the Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres Resort and Spa, in Cancun. It is a very big hotel with fancy décor. At the check in reception desk, it was amazing as they gave us drinks and showed us the pick ‘n’ mix machine where we enjoyed our sweets.
My room had a glass bath with a balcony looking over the pool. It had an open shower but there was a remote that you could use to cover the glass wall showing into the bedroom. They provide a fridge full of chocolate and soft drinks for us to enjoy throughout the day.
There were multiple boat docks placed around the hotel that could take you to your desired restaurant, there was an Argentinian restaurant, Mediterranean restaurant, Japanese restaurant, Mexican and French restaurant. My favourite restaurant was the Japanese because it had live cooking shows and a sushi bar that you could go up and choose from and we had fun trying to use our chopsticks, napkins are always handy!
One of my favourite things to do in Mexico was to visit Bar Piacere and share delicious red velvet cake with my sister after watching the night time shows.
Throughout the day there were activities to keep younger children happy, such as volleyball in the pool, board games, colouring at the park and the hotel mascot would come to visit.
There was also an amazing beach just a two-minute walk from the resort with soft white sand and clear blue water. The clear blue water was great and allowed me and my Nan to go snorkelling. We were provided with sun loungers and had access to a drinks bar with swings that me and Alyssa enjoyed playing on.
The hotel was suitable for all ages because it provides children with fun activities. There were also clubs and silent discos for the adults. There was a kids club for any children who wanted to visit if their parents wanted to have a sleep or have some alone time.
Every night there was shows on at the main stage in the restaurant area, with dancers, acting performers and lights show. You could head back to your room by hoping on a buggy that has amazing ride or taking a boat that goes through the hotel.
On your boat journey you can see a water fountain show it was amazing as it had different coloured lights and patterns that made the water and everything around it look brighter.
I would recommend this hotel for families, as I had a fantastic time and would visit again.
