Paris as a Young Couple

Busy days, tired feet and memories we will talk about forever.

Paris, France

Paris was everything we hoped for and more and then some busy days, tired feet and memories we will honestly talk about forever.

We stayed at the ibis Paris 17 Clichy-Batignolles, which turned out to be such a great base. It is only about a five minute walk to the metro, so getting around the city was easy, even after long days of walking. We stayed for four nights and made it our mission to squeeze every last drop out of the trip and our step counters were working overtime.

Before we even arrived, we planned out our itinerary and pre booked all the must do experiences so we didn’t miss anything and if you hate waiting around like me, this is 100% worth it On our first day we spent the afternoon sightseeing and soaking in the city, then headed out for a 5pm cruise along the Seine River to see the city from a different angle. Just as the boat set off, the Eiffel Tower began to sparkle and wow this was the first time we had seen it. It was one of those pinch me moments that felt genuinely magical and seeing the city from the river was so special at night and one I would also say to do.

Day two started with a very on time arrival at the Louvre Museum, where we spent the morning wandering through endless galleries and occasionally getting completely lost. Our final stop was, of course, the Mona Lisa. After all that exploring, we treated ourselves to the most amazing hot chocolate at Carette, which we felt was very much deserved.

Day three was Disney day and I will admit I was very excited. We were up at 6.30am to make sure we arrived for park opening at Disneyland Paris. To make the most of the day, we bought a FastPass and it was one of the best decisions we made, especially for Crush’s Coaster which is an absolute must. We started in the Studios Park, catching glimpses of Adventure Way and the Land of Frozen, then grabbed lunch in Disney Village and enjoyed a little walk around the lake. In the afternoon we headed into the main park and fully embraced the magic with the parade, Mickey shaped pizzas and ending the day with the firework display. Tired, happy and slightly emotional sums it up perfectly. Need to do it again soon.

On our final day, we tackled the Eiffel Tower properly with more steps, but completely worth it. From the top we looked out over the city and could spot so many of the places we had explored over the last few days, which felt like the perfect way to wrap up the trip.

It is honestly so hard to choose just one highlight because we packed so much in, but standing at the Trocadéro watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle will always stick with me. More than anything though, it was the memories we made together that made the trip so special.

I would absolutely recommend Paris for a long weekend, especially as a couple. Just be warned, if you’re anything like us, you might need another holiday afterwards just to rest your feet and recover.
