Exploring Sandals & Beaches Resorts: in Jamaica and Saint Lucia with Shona 

 

As someone who's been lucky enough to travel across the Caribbean, experiencing the luxurious offerings of Sandals and Beaches resorts, I wanted to share some of my favourite resort in Jamaica and Saint Lucia  From family holidays with my grandchildren to romantic getaways, I’ve had the chance to experience a variety of resorts, each offering something unique.

 

 If you’re after the perfect family getaway, Beaches Negril in Jamaica is the place to be! We had an amazing time with my grandkids, and honestly, this resort has something for everyone. Set on the beautiful Seven Mile Beach, we spent our days swimming in the warm clear and trying snorkelling for their first time. We even went out on a catamaran where they tried their new skill and loved seeing all the fish. 

 

The water park was an absolute favourite and burned up lots of energy ready from the ice cream that is on tap. There’s also a fantastic kids’ club with plenty of supervised activities, so if your  little ones like getting involved in arts, crafts, and games and meeting new friends this is great and super safe.  For the older ones, there’s a wide range of water sports like snorkelling, paddle boarding, and kayaking. And if you’re up for some fun on land, try out the tennis courts, beach volleyball.

 

When it comes to food, Beaches Negril there is a variety of restaurants to choose from, we were spoilt for choice! From Caribbean-inspired dishes to Italian, seafood, and even a fun pizza parlour for the kids, everyone found something they loved. The all-inclusive dining options made it so easy to indulge without a care in the world – whether we were enjoying a relaxed meal by the beach or treating ourselves to something a little more special in one of the resort’s à la carte restaurants.

 

Beaches Negril is truly the perfect place for making lasting family memories, with all the fun, food, and relaxation you could wish for. 

 

Sandals Montego Bay for a little more excitement and party fun! This resort is a hotspot for lively entertainment and vibrant nightlife. Whether you're enjoying the beautiful beach or sipping a cocktail at one of the bars, there’s always something fun happening. It’s the perfect mix of relaxation and thrill! You can stay here and use the facilities at the other 2 Sandals hotel at Montego bay giving you so many food and entertainment options and really close to the hip strip. 

 

For a more laid-back atmosphere, I go to Sandals Royal Caribbean. Here, it’s all about enjoying the luxury in a more serene setting. One of my favourites is taking the  private boat to the resort’s private island for dinner – the sunset views were amazing as well as the food and drink. Perefct for relaxation, so much so we have been several times. 

 

Sandals Dunn’s River: Adventure and Nature Combined 

Sandals Dunn’s River is a must-visit for nature lovers. It’s the perfect place if you want to explore the iconic Dunn’s River Falls or enjoy the nearby attractions in Ocho Rios. It’s an excellent mix of natural beauty and resort luxury. If you're an adventure seeker, you won’t want to miss out on climbing the falls! You again have all the amazing food and drink and as it the resort is spilt between beachside and hillside you can choose what views and room type you wish. We preferred the hillside and having the villa with a pool but so many choices we can find the one that is right for you. 

 

Sandals Negril: One of My Favourite Getaways 🌅

 

Sandals Negril holds a special place in my heart – it’s where my love affair with Jamaica began 25 years ago! Since then, I’ve returned time and again, and I can’t recommend it enough for anyone looking for the perfect beach holiday. The resort is set along the stunning Seven Mile Beach, which has to be one of the most beautiful stretches of sand I’ve ever seen. Whether you’re soaking up the sun, browsing the local shops, or taking a short trip to Benta Falls, it’s a perfect mix of relaxation and adventure.

 

Benta Falls is a real gem – much less crowded than the more well-known spots, it feels more personal and untouched. You can take a refreshing dip in the natural pools, surrounded by lush greenery, and experience the falls in a peaceful, serene setting. There’s something incredibly special about it, as it’s not overrun by tourists, and it truly feels like your own private paradise. Sandals Negril offers the ideal balance of clam and adventure, with a range of room types and for us the beachfront is the one to book here. 

 

 

If you’re looking for a unique and luxurious experience, I can’t recommend Sandals Regency La Toc enough. The hillside rooms offer unparalleled views of the ocean, and although it’s a bit of an uphill walk back to your room, it’s worth it for the views. Plus, if you're feeling a bit tired after indulging in the rum, don’t worry – you can always take one of the buggies back to your room!

 

The beach here is absolutely stunning, and it has so many activities that it will keep even the most active of you busy day and night. From water sports to nightly entertainment, there’s never a dull moment. Whether you're seeking relaxation or adventure, Sandals Grande offers something for everyone and has such a variety of room types from the bungalows on the beach to rooms in the main hotel there is something for everyone.
