We returned a few month ago from a short break at the incredible 5* Kivotos Hotel & Villas and here are some highlights of this epic trip!
Kivotos Mykonos is situated right on the waterfront of the beautiful Ornos Bay. This luxurious property has its own secluded beach and offers stunning views overlooking the water. Ornos Bay is a short stroll away and comes with several dining options and beach bars.
We stayed in one of the lavish Deluxe Suites with Sea View, which was immaculately decorated and creatively designed. There are plenty of rooms to choose from, we recommend the Signature Suite 130° with Private Glass Pool which boasts 60sqm, king bedroom, a large sitting area, a bathroom with Jacuzzi and a private glass pool with an outdoor sitting area to enjoy the sublime sea views. 2-bedroom accommodation options are available as well as, so friends travelling together or families can be catered for at Kivotos.
Something completely unique to this hotel is the amazing contemporary art, vintage ultra-chic pieces and treasures that are scattered throughout the main building, restaurant, rooms, spa and pool area, so make sure to keep an eye out when you visit!
We tucked into a delicious breakfast every morning at the AM du Chef restaurant which included heavenly Mediterranean choices with American influences. Some of the breakfast menu highlights included heavenly pancakes with blueberries, scrambled eggs, freshly squeezed juices and many more. The cocktails by the pool were to die for and for dinner, we were spoilt with a truly exquisite culinary experience and a mouthwatering feast each night that we will be dreaming of for years to come. Some of our favourite fine dining dishes were the amberjack carpaccio, delicious shrimp salad, roasted lamb joint and a refreshing mango sorbet.
During our stay, we were fortunate enough to go on an Island tour with a highly informative guide who told us a lot of history about the island and its unique quirkiness!
Finally, we couldn’t miss a visit to Mykonos Town which is just a short 10-minute drive away from the hotel. The Town is home to some of the island’s most famous tourist attractions, including the famous Myconian windmills and the beautiful restaurants, shops and bars that are situated withing the picturesque white cobblestone streets. Our favourite spot was Little Venice which we highly recommend for drinks during sunset time.
