After a long and varied career in a several industries, all with a great focus on the provision of outstanding customer service, I joined the team in February 2022 and am really enjoying being part of the Thorne Travel family.
It must be New England where I spent 10 amazing months at a woodschool in Rockport, Maine learning how furniture is made. I also enjoyed spending time in historical Boston and Vermont while I was there … I will never forget my visit to Ben and Jerrys and the memory of New England in the Fall will stay with me forever … simply stunning!
Do a little research on your destination in advance of your trip to ensure you get the most out of your break.
Where I have visited
I have been fortunate to have been able to travel to many European destinations over the years along with several trips to the United States. I found that:
I loved America for shopping, it’s got great outlet malls if you like a quality bargain.
European city breaks offered culture, good food and the opportunity to brush up on my language skills at schools in Juan les Pins and Madrid.
Beach resorts were ideal for playing in the sea and sand with family, relaxing with a good book and soaking up the glorious sunshine.
I lived in Guernsey in the Channel Islands for 5 years, with its lovely restaurants, beaches and visitor attractions.
…and more recently I spent 10 months in Maine, US whose state motto was “the way life should be”…. It was like stepping back in time …the pace of life was very laid back and was a truly life enhancing experience.
Staycations were the norm when I was little so it’s good to see them gaining popularity again ….there are so many beautiful places to visit in the British Isles …and they’re only a coach, car, train or plane journey away.
