Mexico is a destination that continues to impress – and recently, I had the pleasure of experiencing it first-hand, from the stylish streets of Cancun to the boho bliss of Tulum. This was more than a beach break – it was a journey through some of the best luxury resorts in Mexico, each offering something truly special.
Checking In: Hyatt Vivid Grand Island, Cancun
My holiday began in vibrant Cancun, where I stayed at the newly opened Hyatt Vivid Grand Island – a five-star, adults-only resort located just 20 minutes from Cancun International Airport. The resort blends relaxed sophistication with modern design, perfect for couples and groups looking for a laid-back but high-end escape.
While not directly on the beach, the resort features one of the best beach clubs in Cancun, with ocean views, space to unwind, and the perfect beachside vibe. It’s the kind of place where time slows down and every drink feels like a celebration.
Hyatt Vivid is also home to two stunning pools, including the longest rooftop pool in Cancun. Exclusive to Vantage guests, this rooftop retreat is worth every upgrade – offering sweeping views of the skyline and sea. It quickly became my favourite spot to relax under the sun.
A Taste of Ultra-Luxury: Secrets Moxché & Impression Moxché
While in Cancun, I also visited two spectacular adults-only luxury resorts: Secrets Moxché and the ultra-exclusive Impression Moxché by Secrets. We enjoyed an unforgettable lunch at the Market Café – easily one of the best buffets I’ve ever had, offering fresh, international cuisine in a beautiful setting.
Both properties redefine five-star luxury in Mexico, making them ideal for honeymoons, romantic escapes, or a truly special treat.
The Charm of Tulum: Secrets Tulum Resort & Beach Club
After enjoying the high life in Cancun, I travelled to Tulum to check in at Secrets Tulum, where I stayed in a Junior Suite Swim-Out room – complete with a private pool just steps from my bed. It was pure indulgence and the perfect way to experience Tulum’s iconic barefoot luxury.
The first evening was a welcome dinner on the spa terrace, complete with traditional live music and a stunning sunset. The relaxed, bohemian atmosphere of Tulum adds a magical layer to every experience.
The next day, I visited the exclusive Secrets Tulum beach club, reserved for resort guests and part of the all-inclusive package. With white sand, crystal-clear water, beachfront dining and top-tier service, it’s the kind of place where you could happily lose track of time.
Dining, Dancing & Unique Experiences
One highlight was dinner at Olio, the resort’s Italian restaurant, where the food and service were absolutely outstanding. Later that evening, we joined the Neon Party hosted by United Airlines – a lively night of music, dancing, and unforgettable memories by the pool.
We also took part in a fun Sip & Paint activity, painting sun hats while enjoying local drinks. It was the perfect combination of creativity and relaxation – and a great souvenir to take home.
On the final night, the Icons Ball brought everyone together for a costume party under the stars. I went as the Mona Lisa (with a twist), and it was such a fun and light-hearted way to close the trip.
